The Kicking Horse Classic is our premier trip, including all of the biggest & best rapids on the river.

Starting at our private river base, this unforgettable journey begins calmly, allowing rafters to familiarize themselves with the raft, paddles and guide’s commands.

Get to know your fellow rafters and find out fun facts about the river as you take in the views of the serene upper section. Then, it’s onto the mighty rapids the Kicking Horse is famous for. As the canyon narrows, the waves build, drenching rafters in continuous rapids such as Shot Gun, Man Eater and Roller Coaster. It’s a popular whitewater journey that combines a mix of class 1-4 rapids, finishing 20 km downstream.

Finish off smiling ear to ear, having just earned your bragging rights; then board the shuttle back to the Hydra River Base. Rinse off in beach style showers and get changed. Swap stories with your fellow rafters about who was holding on (even when they said they weren’t), what was your favourite rapid and who simply got drenched. Our Kicking Horse Classic trip is the equivalent of other companies ‘Full Day’ trip. We offer the BEST rate for this trip. When comparing trips and prices, we simply can’t be beat. We actually gurantee it. Also remember, our base is in between Field and Golden, so we save you the hassle of driving right into Golden, BC to just be shuttled back 25kms to start your rafting trip. Our location allows us to access the river right from our river base. We put in directly from the shore, so park at our base, get your gear on and we’re off! We can’t wait to have you join us.

Trip Details

Trip departs from the Hydra River Base: Daily: 9:15am & 1:15pm

Trip Duration: 2 hours on water, 3 hours in total duration

Everything to get you on the river: sanitized wetsuit, fleece, spray jacket, life jacket, neoprene booties and helmet plus guide instruction. Please bring a swimsuit, towel & bag for personal belongings. Please note there is no food or drink served on this trip.

Meet at the Hydra River Base. No transport available. All guests to self drive to river base
