Different from the Start
At Hydra River Guides, we pride ourselves on being the best whitewater company on and out of the water. To make sure your trip starts off on the right foot (or wave), we have a private River Base, located 25 kms east of Golden, BC. Our location is the closest to Banff, and being positioned right on the riverbank means you avoid lengthy bus trips before setting off. Simply suit up, grab your paddle and you’ll be on your way!
Crowd Pleasing Classic
The Classic kicks off in the serene upper section of the river, giving you time to get used to the raft and learn about the Kicking Horse before you travel into the narrower sections of the canyons and the rapids get rowdy. You’ll face class 1-4 rapids that bring big waves, tons of splashes, and a roaring good time. Popular rapid you’ll hit include Shot Gun, Portage, Man Eater, and Rollercoaster.
Wrap Up in Style
Once your time on the river is done, you’ll return to our River Base where you can enjoy our warm showers, cozy change rooms, beach volleyball courts and more. We’ll treat you to a delicious BBQ and give you time to relax in the natural beauty surrounding you before the day comes to a close.
