Hydra River Guides has been rafting the Kicking Horse River
for over 26 years. With time, comes experience, and Hydra is
now one of the biggest rafting companies on the river. We pride
ourselves on our qualified staff and a strong safety record.
Our mission is to ensure every guest has an unforgettable rafting
experience.

The River base - The Hydra operation
takes place at our River base, located on the banks of the Kicking
Horse River, 45 minutes west of Lake Louise and 1 hour and 20
minutes from Banff. Hydra River Guides is one of the few companies
fortunate to own a private river base. The site is fully equipped
with flushing toilets, male / female change rooms, picnic area,
BBQ, beach volleyball courts and car parking, all available
for use by our rafting clients. We have a lodge used for rafting
check ins, where you can pick up a rafting souvenir or view
the rafting photos of your day.
BBQ lunch - We offer a delicious
BBQ lunch for ALL of our raft trips. The menu includes, chicken,
buffalo or vegetarian burger with all of the trimmings, potato
salad, pasta salad, dessert and cold drinks. Enjoy your lunch at our private site where you can enjoy the
views of the river from your picnic table or take in a game
of beach volleyball.
Transportation - For those folks
without transport we offer a bus service from Canmore, Banff
and Lake Louise
Easy to book - The Hydra booking
office is located in Banff, Alberta. Our store is located at
211 Bear Street in the Bison Courtyard complex and is open from
7.30am until 9pm daily. We also have a rafting kiosk located
in the Chinook Centre, Calgary, AB. So if you prefer to book
face to face, we make it easy.
Our team - Hydra has a great team
of passionate people, from our guides, photographer, cooks,
land manager, reservation staff, head guide and owner, who are
there to make sure you have an amazing rafting experience; from
start to finish.
At Hydra River Guides we have proven ourselves to be competent
